Just for fun. A promo card for an Orthodontist...
Ten Minutes
Still a work very much in progress because I cant access my FTP from work! Damnit. But just another journal type project to get me thinking more.
http://tenminutes.davidcaputo.net/ A Year, A Month...![]() New book thingy. Journal kind of series of drawings and collages. I have been in a funk since graduating and had really low confidence/self esteem regarding my work and have produced almost nothing. I also find that when I don't make or do anything I cant remember anything. I dont have any reference points to gauge my days by. I have had a huge surge of inspiration lately though, this is a sketch of the cover. Why isnt there anything here yet?
Oh, hello. Sorry to disappoint but there wont be anything here for a week or so. I am currently in the process of moving my life to Brooklyn(!) and am trying to archive/revamp/reorganize/database all of my existing work. Don't fret none about it though. As soon as I get settled everything will be back online and in good condition.
In the meantime why not order some fancy wooden mustaches? How We See
A quick blurb from a ramble I sent to someone regarding my project.
"My Senior Thesis project was based on how people play and through that how they communicate. I constructed a 12 by 8 foot wall covered in hexagonal lighting clusters. Embedded in the wall were motion sensors that were then connected to a micro-controller. The goal of the project was to study how people reacted to the wall when they were there by themselves and also how they reacted in groups. I watched the evolution of their thought process. Some thought it was sound activated. Some thought the distance determined the brightness of the lights. By modifying my program I was able to change how the lights would react to the users and watch how this would change their behavior. The wall was a basic interface and by disguising it as a giant wall with pretty lights I could see a user experience from a very different perspective. I got to see how their intuition and learning cycle progressed at a very basic level because they did not know they were being tested." Pictures of the project can be found on my Portfolio site. Mustaches
Wooden mustaches of all shapes and sizes. Monocles are so two weeks ago! Next time your perusing the wine list down at your favorite swank house, lift one of these jems to your snout to let the waiter know that he is dealing with a gentleman of class! (currently available for purchase)
